Site-specific intervention at Søborg Slotsruin, Denmark
In this project, I hung apples—purchased from a supermarket and imported from various countries—on a tree near the Søborg Slotsruin in Denmark. This simple yet intentional gesture served as an open invitation to both birds and humans to gather, observe, and perhaps partake.
By reintroducing commercially produced, globally transported fruit into a natural setting, the work playfully challenges notions of origin, belonging, and consumption. The apples become offerings—symbols of hospitality, absurdity, and subtle provocation—encouraging cross-species interaction within the context of the site. This act also highlights the global systems that disconnect food from place, while momentarily reconnecting them through a poetic and performative intervention.
