This project transforms an art school into a tourist destination by opening a souvenir shop during the final exhibition, featuring souvenirs based on student projects. It questions who has access to art institutions and challenges the systems that define visibility, legitimacy, and value in the art world.
Referencing the slogan “I ❤️ NY,” the project also reflects on who is allowed to be a tourist—especially from the perspective of someone from the Middle East, where even basic access, like a visa, is often denied. Similarly, access to the school is limited by student ID cards, prompting questions about institutional inclusion: Who is allowed to participate in the art world, and under what conditions?
