Exhibited as part of the group show "Purple Rain" in Sotra, Norway
This project explores the tension between human ambition and the untamable forces of nature, set against the dramatic backdrop of two abandoned wave power stations in Sotra—structures once designed to harness the energy of the ocean, now lying in ruins, destroyed by the very power they sought to control.
As part of the Purple Rain group exhibition, I intervened in the site by constructing a 10-meter slingshot, which I used to launch a “sugar cube” into the sea. This absurd and symbolic action contrasts the fragile, impermanent gesture of the sugar cube with the overwhelming, enduring force of the ocean. It becomes a poetic performance—both playful and futile—that reflects on failed innovation, human fragility, and the enduring mystery of nature.
